Chromebooks + Canvas + CSD Docs = Success!
Students in Mrs. Hanks' "American Sign Language" class are using Chromebooks to access both CSD Docs (Google Drive for Canyons School District Teachers & Students) and Canvas - our online learning management system.

Since much of the work students do is both visual and performance based it can be difficult to assess their learning unless they are present in class.  Since there is rarely enough time to both instruct and assess each individual students, Mrs. Hanks has come up with a unique way for students to submit their work online.

Using Canvas on Chromebooks, students log in to their online accounts quickly with one log in name and access assignments posted by their teacher.  On this day students had to show that they could introduce themselves and finger spell their names.  In Canvas the students can record a video of themselves through the forward facing Chromebook camera, and then submit it for review.

In addition to video files, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slideshows can also be submitted to Canvas with a few easy clicks.

To learn more about connecting your CSD Docs account with Canvas, check out the Canvas User Guide: How do I connect Canvas to Google Docs?
